And speaking of beauty, Noname, who is featured on this week’s cover, takes on the mythical connection between outer appearance and self-love in Beauty Supply from her 2023 album Sundial (which is a BANGER, please check it out). 

I also featured the amazing Lijadu Sisters who earned their place on the stage of the 1972 World Music Festival with their dope intertwining of Afrobeat, Jazz and Disco music.
