If James Brown is considered the funkiest man in music, Bobby Byrd is walking right behind him. Some would even say he was the person pulling the strings. 

He’s a singer, songwriter, composer, and arranger whose footsteps are crucial to soul, rhythm & blues, funk, and hip-hop music.

On top of being extremely accomplished as a soloist, he was the pen behind many James Brown hits, dating back to their time together in the Famous Flames.
